Many students with attention-deficit disorders often feel misunderstood. ADHD is accompanied by order learning disorders most of the time. Students who struggle with this often feel overwhelmed at the end of a school day. A Learning Management System (LMS) can help students who are struggling in the classroom. A LMS can be summarized by four actions: 1. Tracking assignments and calendars, 2. Following teacher feedback, 3.Editing and rewriting, and 4. Writing practice using real world scenarios. This online system will help the students, parents, and teachers help the student succeed.
  • Teachers can create a calendar or chart for the student to help keep track of assignments and upcoming due dates all in one place.
  • Students can submit work online and receive feedback online. The feedback will not be lost in a students backpack or at home. This will help a student continue to grow.
  • Having a LMS can also help students with real world situations. This will teach students how to work out problems online and in person.
I am someone who has struggled with ADHD my whole life. Teachers misunderstood me as a child growing up. I was known as the quiet child but in reality I did not know what was going on. Having a teacher who understood how to help me or given me a LMS would have benefitted me greatly. Offering this to my future students would help them grow as a student but also teach them life long skills out of the classroom.
